On Tuesday night I saw the upcoming new movie AntMan. I have to say, awesome movie! It was very well done, and Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily, both did a fantastic job, and they have great chemistry together. If you didn't know, Paul Rudd actually helped write the screenplay to this movie as well, he was one of the four writers. The movie was directed by Peyton Reed, There is just the right amount of comedy, that balances with lots of action, and has a decent plot to drive the movie forward and keep you actively engaged. Corey Stoll is a fantastic egotistical bad guy, as Darren Cross, that someplace along the line lost his soul in a quest for technology that is too dangerous to be on the open market, especially for people from Hydra. Michael Douglas is also stellar as Hank Pym, the original AntMan, and inventor of the technology and founder of the company that Darren Cross heads up as the CEO. Props go out to Michael Pena and his comedic acting as Luis, and of course all the other supporting cast which is mostly quirky and funny, with very distinct personalities. The CGI was off the charts, and aside from a few things which are obviously not real, most of it makes you want to believe that something can actually be shrunk down to insect sizes. The transitional work between full size and small size is achieved with a ton of realism, which really sells the whole movie. Aside from a few points that one can maybe guess at, the movie is not one full of cliche's nor is it easy to guess what will happen next. That makes it a throughly entertaining comic book movie. The writing was very well done throughout this movie and it fits nicely into the grand scheme of all the Marvel movies from Marvel studios, everything is extremely well balanced and I think that the overall reception of the movie will be rather high. Keep your eyes open as you watch the film, because there are lots of word drops, characters, scenes, and other stuff that come from the new Marvel… Justin Taylor
