Just got my grades for my term that ended Sunday. Yes, I got another A. I have a 3.70 GPA, and this term on Group and Team Leadership was somewhat eye opening, and challenging. I am also knee deep in generating my proposal for my dissertation, so despite a very much needed 4 week break, I have a ton of work to do, which I would rather just pretend does not exist for a while. 12 more days, then it will be Christmas... and if you have not noticed... today is the last day this century that we will have a sequential date: 12.13.14 However, in 20 years we will sort of have one, if you cheat and discount the 0's: 1.2.34 Justin Taylor

Been having back spasms all morning and afternoon. (Makes me feel sick.) Couldn't lay down or even sit, my lower back, kidney areas, were hurting so bad. Medication took a while to kick in, but once it did, it barely helped. If I move too fast, I was still having a massive spasm right up my spine. It's slowly, too slowly, improving... ugh, time for muscle relaxers I think. Justin Taylor

OK.. FACTS! - The top 10% of income earners pay 71% of all federal income taxes... - 43% of the population does not pay 1 single dime, i.e., 0%. - The bottom 50% of all those that actually pay any income taxes, pay 2%... Of the 43% that pay NOTHING, the majority of them actually get PAID something from those taxes... in the form of some sort of Government benefit.... Of course, that's assuming we didn't spend more than we bring in taxes every year... Just imagine, if we had a balanced budget and spending was not out of control. What do you think about this?? Official Diagnosis is pyelonephritis. Just back from the doctor, and I still have a rather unpleasant 2.5 degree more than normal fever. I can't seem to stop sweating... it just feels hot. Plus, still having all the other joys associated with pyelonephritis. If not pyelonephritis, then it might be prostatitis, or maybe associated with urethritis. Either way... this is no fun and I hope that the first round of Levofloxacin, is the last round needed. Justin Taylor

Hachi: A Dogs Tale How many of my dog loving friends have seen this movie? It was made in 2009, but I just watched it for the first time. It is based on the true story of an Akita that was born in Japan in 1929, and then died in 1934. It’s a pretty amazing story and a really good family movie about loyalty and unconditional love. Mindblown... did any of you watch The Tonight Show and see that 16 year old girl Marissa’s invention? It was a flashlight that works from the heat of your hand. Sadly, storms across the country and world are causing rain and snow, at levels not seen in 50 or more years... So somehow illogical logic, means it must be climate change. Really?? Do these people just not understand or do they purposefully ignore, that something similar has happened in all of these places, at least ONCE since we have been keeping weather records?? How many times has it probably happened at similar 'historic levels', before records of weather have been kept?? Anybody else notice the confusion, when in the same breath someone in the media says, "records not seen since as many as 50 years ago", and suddenly their interpretation of that is... 'Evidence of Climate Change". Huh?? Justin Taylor

Gift of Choice All the two legged beings upon the earth have been given a special gift by the Creator. It is called, the Gift of Choice. This gift gives you the power to choose how to walk in life. In the Navajo language, life is a ‘walking.’ Because of this Gift of Choice, every morning you and I choose to walk forward or to walk backward. And with every step we take, forwards or backwards, we are accountable! And because we are accountable there are consequences... The consequences are not chosen by us. Some are immediate and some consequences are delay. It is said, as we walk through life, we can make right or wrong choices. We, according to our Gift of Choice, have the power to choose to either walk forward or to walk backward. ---- GoodBuffaloEagle, Founder, ANASAZI Foundation Justin Taylor

To start this year in a loving way, I'm participating in a pay-it-forward initiative: the first 5 people who comment on this status with "I'm in" will receive a surprise from me at some point during this calendar year - anything from a book or a ticket to something homegrown or made, a postcard, absolutely any surprise. There will be no warning and it will happen when the mood comes over me and I find something I believe would suit you and make you happy. These 5 people must make the same offer in their FB status. Copy this text to your profile (don't share) so we can form a web of connection and kindness. Let's do more loving things for each other in 2014, without any reason other than to make people smile and show that we think of each other. Here's to a more enjoyable, more friendly and love-filled year. Justin Taylor

Saw "Draft Day" tonight... it was a really good movie and well worth watching. Especially if you are a Football fan... Funny, down to earth, faster paced than I expected, and full of tension. The movie is a story of course, but it does a good job of showing a little bit of a behind the scenes look into how it all happens, for those who have no idea. Yes, if you are a Seahawks fan, they are represented. There are little tidbits of history too, as different players are talked about... anyway, I think everyone there actually enjoyed it quite a bit. New years day is just as special as the beginning of a new month, week, or even a new day. They are all new to me, I have never seen it before, the possibilities are endless, and I am grateful to still be breathing, vertical, and not six feet under. Here is to a new dawn, with hopefully many, many more to come. Feeling grateful for friends, families, and for the right to choose my own path. Happy New Years!! Justin Taylor
